Internet Marketing Guru Promotions

Hello everyone,Internet-Marketing-Guru-Promotions

Today I want to talk about Internet Marketing Guru Promotions and why they seem to promote endless offers and promote endless product launches and have new Internet Marketers feel so overwhelmed and what to think about it.

But before that, I wanted you guys to know that  I was going to put up a post about choosing domain names and then it got to be about a dozen pages long so I thought to myself  “Why not make it a free e-book” otherwise you will still be sitting there reading my blog post on your 99th birthday and if you are reading this and it is your 99th birthday please email me and let me know what drugs you have been taking to last so long and still be able to read Internet marketing blogs.

So, I will put the e-book up in the next couple of weeks, but subscribe to my RSS feed or email notification list so you know when it is ready. I did put some good effort into this so you should like it.

First thing is if you haven’t had a break yet.. grab a drink folks and stretch your legs and come back..

So, why the hell do Internet Marketing Guru’s promote so many products when they know damn well it can overwhelm people?

Is that what it takes to “Make it” online?

Are they all in a secret club designed to take your money?

Are Gurus a bunch of money hungry shysters, who don’t give a damn about you?

By the way, Guru is just a buzz word that they have been labeled with and to tell you the truth I hate the damn word, but it is widely used and it describes them as a ‘group’ I suppose so let’s just stick with that shall we.

So, put yourself in their shoes. Of course they do it for the money, wouldn’t you?
They have made a lot of money online and want to make more.
Well that much is obvious, but I think it goes deeper than that for some Gurus.

I can honestly say that some (Not all) Guru’s don’t give a crap about you.
All they want to do is to make as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time possible.

Then you have other Guru’s who do this for the money and the lifestyle it can bring, but they also really want to help others achieve what they have achieved in regards to “making it” online.

They want to provide REAL value to you and promote things that they truly believe in.

Think about it, what are you in this Internet Marketing business for?

Yes, to make money.. but I am sure there will come a point in time where you are making a great income and have a good lifestyle but is that it? Is that all there is to life?

We all want to make a difference in this world no matter how big or small and we try to help others who are less fortunate than ourselves.
We leave this world just how we came in and the only thing we can do different is with what we leave behind and the lives we have touched and made a difference to.

So although it may seem they are only after your money by promoting endless systems and launches, realize it is just a part of their plan to help others, leave a legacy behind in this world once they leave and to make things better for the future.

Will you be any different when you are in their position?

What would you do if you had a list or group of people who trust you and follow some of your strategies? Would you want them to go off and buy things from other marketers knowing that they could have got it off you, even though it may simply confuse them and give them more “Stuff” to put on the shelf.

You might be saying to yourself  “Well Troy, all this talk is just fluff that puts butterflies in my stomach, but how does this help me if Gurus are pushing all their products on to me to the point I get so overwhelmed I don’t know where to go or who to follow?”

Well here it is

Unless you are personally coaching people, You will never know if the people who buy what you promote, ‘really’ need what you are promoting or if they are just collecting more stuff and jumping from one thing to another.

You cannot baby sit everyone 24 hours a day.

People are going to buy stuff anyway, so they may as well buy it off you because you believe in the product, someone they know or trust.

Most Gurus promote what they believe to be a good product and they don’t want to risk having their reputation tarnished by promoting something that is crap.

You see TV ads on the TV, but do you HAVE to buy the products they advertise?

You have a remote, so turn the damn TV off if you don’t want to see the ads or go do something productive for a few minutes.

It is the same thing with Guru promotions, put your head down and focus on what you need to focus on and turn off the ads.

If you need something to help you along the way then go look for it or if you see something or some information that you think may help you down the track then save it for later.
A simple search on your pc later on will have it up in a jiffy.

No one can make you buy or join anything, so have the self discipline to focus on what you need to focus on.

Here are some other thoughts..

A person has to look at most of these various training programs or products like books.

While there is from time to time a crossover of information, each book is unique and each author has his own expertise and advice to give. Some individuals are capable of taking several courses and merging them into a super strategy.

Other people get overwhelmed by doing this and are usually much better off sticking to one program and mastering it before moving on to any others.

Like a bookstore with lots of books, so it is with Internet Marketing offers.

There are numerous Internet marketing products and courses and more are
being released all the time.

Some people are ready to buy the product being offered on the shelf and others aren’t.

You have to look at what is best for the stage in your internet marketing career that you are at.

Do you have time to implement what you learn? Or will you put it aside for a few months and have it sitting there on the shelf before even having the time or money to look at it and implement the strategies? Do you have the discipline it takes to follow through?

If you feel you need to buy a product or join a club or coaching program, then make sure it fits in with your overall plan and goals that you have written down.

Ask yourself, Will it help you achieve what you want to achieve?

Sure, in the end your goal is to make money but you should have a step by step guide on how you want to get there. If you don’t then you need to choose a system or some other mentor to follow and stick with it. Don’t go off buying all this other crap if you don’t need it.

Keep doing what you are doing and finish it. Then you can move on if you want to.

If you do not focus then you may as well be throwing mud against the wall to see what sticks.

Actually, there is nothing wrong with throwing mud against the wall or trying out different things as long as you have the time and money to do it, however most new Internet Marketers don’t.

One more thing.
Don’t beat yourself up if you make a wrong turn and buy stuff that you know you don’t need. Learn from it and move on.

Stay Focused.

Well that is my rant for this week.

Please do yourself a favour and read an excellent forum thread over at Affilorama.

“Lessons I have learned from my failures”

This ties in with the theme of this blog post.

Till next time,

Good stuff, Troy. I enjoy it when you moderate over at Afilorama. Sometimes, your patience is short with people, but you tell it like it is. Your rant on not buying stuff you don’t need or can’t afford is right on. Reminds me of JD Pacero.

Thanks for your contributions to this weird and crazy business, mate.

Great Post Troy, Like the blog. You know, a lot of people follow Gurus without knowing what they are getting into.
I agree, you won’t know what your people really need until you take the time to help them one on one.

It is all about building real relationships with people, not faking a relationship to get money like some people teach.

Isn’t it funny how you can start writing a short blog post and wind up with a book? I have had it happen too many times to count. Then people get mad at me for GIVING it away rather than selling it. Oh well, to each his own.
Keep up the great posts, I will definitely add you to my subscribe list.
